Southend-on-Sea [Lower]
The cliff railway, or as it is sometimes known the Cliff Lift, at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, which opened on August Bank Holiday Monday in 1912, seen here 107 years later on the morning of Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August 2019. At 33C, this was the hottest ever recorded August Bank Holiday Monday in London and the south-east and it certainly felt like it.
