Kielder Water

View east across Kielder Water in November 2013, with the Kielder Ferry berthed in the foreground. The route of the Border Counties Railway ran parallel with the shoreline opposite on the section between Plashetts and Falstone. Today the trackbed is submerged some 50 yards from the far shore. The remains of Plashetts station (see image 26241) are also under water, although Falstone survived and was later converted for use by the Forestry Commission (see image 5390).
