Achnasheen station, seen from 158712 with the ex-10.56 service from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, on 18th June 2019. This was only my second visit to the Kyle line, the first was 45 long years ago (see image 70556) in April 1974 on a weekend LCGB railtour from London Euston. This got to Achnasheen early on the Saturday morning and waited a considerable time for an Inverness train to cross, allowing participants of the railtour to enjoy a much-needed leg stretch.
