Weybourne

Weybourne station has often been used by t.v. companies when they need a station scene representing the past. Due to oft-shown repeats, many will remember the episode of 'Dad's Army' from May 1973 when Weybourne temporarily became Walmington-on-Sea. In the 1980s, a few episodes of the comedy series 'Hi-de-Hi', set in a 1950s holiday camp, were filmed here too when the station was temporarily renamed Crimpton-on-Sea. Rather nice to stand where great comedy stars like the late Arthur Lowe, Ruth Madoc and the rest of the casts of these series once acted.
