Rosslyn Castle
Looking east over the old goods yard at Rosslyn Castle on a wet 31 January 2020. The muddy path on the right links a farm access road (from which the photograph is taken) with the route of the Penicuik Railway up ahead. Traffic handled by the yard included materials to and from a nearby gunpowder mill, with trans-shipment facilities reached by a 300 yard siding to the right. Passenger traffic ceased in 1951, with the branch closing completely in 1967.
