Little Steeping

Closing the manually operated crossing gates at Little Steeping, Lincolnshire, In February 1989. The location, seen here looking north east, is just under 8 niles from the coast and the terminus at Skegness. The signal box was one of a number of such structures which suffered from Fenland subsidence. (The box closed in 1989 following the installation of automatic half-barriers at the crossing.)
