Bathgate [4th]
The word 'compact' probably best describes the 1986 single line terminus at Bathgate, seen here in August 2008 with a recently arrived service from Waverley at the platform. The train would depart a few minutes later as a 'crossrail' service to Newcraighall. The normal diagram at that time would then take it from Newcraighall to Dunblane, before returning to Waverley.
