A view along the old embankment towards Garstang Town on 4th April 2020. In the foreground the gate marks the point where the embankment has been removed for an Environment Agency River Wyre flood basin scheme and the concessionary footpath drops down and then climbs up again through the small trees to re-join the embankment. The line closed to passenger services after the passage of the last railmotor from Knott End on 29th March 1930 (see image 60981), a few days over ninety years earlier than this photo was taken (as an ancillary to my permitted Covid-19 daily exercise).
