Cork Albert Quay

The Cork City Railways line, linking the Great Southern & Western Railway system and the Cork, Bandon and South Coast Railway systems between Glanmire Road (now Kent station) and Albert Quay station (pictured in the distance) ran largely along roads and shared bridges across the two branches of the River Lee with roads. The line ran into the Albert Quay station through gates just to the right of the surviving terminal building. Albert Quay closed to passengers at the end of March 1961 but the station site survived as a freight terminal until 1980. 5th May 2019.
