Accrington Shed

1909 6 inch OS map extract of the stretch of line between Accrington and Church & Oswaldtwistle stations. The motive power depot 31115 dominates this section and, after closure to steam in 1961, lived on for a few years as a railcar depot with an allocation of Cravens DMUs. The shed site is now occupied by housing. The triangle arrangement at Accrington station can be clearly seen with the line to Bury heading south and to Burnley striking north east.
