The 'Pilton Fork' connection between Pilton East and West junction could never have been much use and was lifted early. As so often in railway archaeology a little faith and imagination is needed to follow its course. Here is the point where it slew under Crewe Road North, the clue being that heavy wall which predates all development. The cutting was filled in a long time ago and is occupied here by that chapel. Photographed incidental to my daily exercise permitted under emergency Coronavirus legislation.
