At first glance this 1910 OS map extract of Liverpool appears to show three railway stations. Lime Street, nearby Central (today entirely underground) and Exchange, which closed in 1977 to be replaced by an underground station on nearby Moorfields. Closer inspection shows a further four stations: Riverside is the most obvious but there are also two on the Liverpool Overhead Railway, which runs south east from the top left hand corner. The map also shows the line of the underground Mersey Railway from Central and the small black square marks James Street underground station, still open today 68137 and now on the Merseyrail Loop Line.
