Shirdley Hill
The site of Shirdley Hill station, looking towards Halsall and Downholland, in August 2020. This view is taken from the site of the level crossing (the only one on the LSPJR line) and the tree covered mound is approximately where the Up platform and station buildings were. The housing development, Shaws Garth, is over forty years old and was named after the last stationmaster, Thomas Shaw. A plaque identifies the location - a nice touch.
