Bantry Pier

Bantry Railway Pier, Cork, Bandon & South Coast Railway, on 19th January 2020. The CB&SCR reached Bantry in 1881. The station was off to the left and the site is now underneath a SuperValu supermarket although remarkably the ruined former engine shed survives in the supermarket car park. A single track ran on to the pier from which a number of ferry services operated. The railway closed on 1st April 1961.
