This extract from the Scottish Region timetable for winter 1960-61 shows a Cathcart lines table still recognisable today. One branch though is a station longer and the other a station shorter. The Uplawmoor line had a poor service; that was it until lunchtime. See image 50378. On the other branch, what are now Newton trains terminated at Kirkhill; why?
