Meadowhall Interchange [SYPTE]
A South Yorkshire Supertram waits to depart for Sheffield City Centre. Immediately to the right are Platforms 1 and 2 for trains on the Dearne Valley Line. These were originally intended to be BR Intercity as well as local train platforms but that idea was not taken further. The footbridge over these takes passengers to Platforms 3 and 4 situated in a cutting below the hill covered by yellow-flowered broom. These are situated on the Hallam and Penistone Lines. The pedestrian walkway to the left of shot leads across the River Don to the Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Photo taken in the mid 1990s; this view is now obscured by vegetation.
