Heriot

A significant cost factor in preparations for the Borders Railway was the number of new bridges required. The particular example shown here near Hangingshaw Farm, just over half a mile south of Heriot, carries a single track road across the railway. The road runs for approximately 250 yards through fields linking the A7 (from which the photograph was taken in June 2014) and the Old Stage Road (beyond the wall).
