The Newcastle & Berwick Railway was responsible for some imposing station buildings - not to mention goods sheds! This is Christon Bank, standing alongside the ECML approximately 9 miles north of Alnmouth in rural Northumberland. The station closed to passengers in 1958, since when both the station and goods shed have become private residences. Photograph taken looking north across Springfield View in August 2007, showing the former station entrance with the level crossing warning lights just visible on the left.
