Looking west across the Victoria swing bridge over the Water of Leith with the docks off to the right. The bridge once provided rail and road links across the river between the western and eastern docks. Photograph taken on 6 June 2010, by which time rail traffic had long ceased (although embedded rails are still in situ) and road traffic now passes by alongside on Ocean Drive. Bridge rotation was driven from an adjacent hydraulic power station (a corner of which can just be seen on the extreme right). The area is now dominated by modern buildings, including 'Ocean Teminal' in the right background - all part of the Leith Waterfront Development that kicked off in the 1990s.
