Glasgow Central

Glasgow Central, during the morning rush hour on a June morning in 1985, with 27020 at rest having brought in a service from either Carlisle or Girvan/Ayr. This loco was withdrawn from use the following April. The poster advertises the Open Station System by which ticket inspections only took place on trains. This saved expenditure on staff but created great potential for fare dodging until the advent of automatic ticket barriers at major stations in the 1990s.
