Holywell Halt

Former Ilkley to Skipton line trackbed viewed, looking towards Bolton Abbey, from the A59 Skipton to Harrogate road shortly after what is now the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway took possession. It was looking in a sorry, waterlogged and boggy, condition in the mid 1980s. Holywell Halt, sited a short distance towards Embsay on the opposite side of the road, was opened in 1987 as the extremity of operations that now stretch through to the replica Bolton Abbey station. See image 75819 for a 1991 view from the same location.
