Dunbar
The attractive station at Dunbar, seen looking west from the car park in May 2007. Located approximately 30 miles from Waverley on the ECML and opened by the NB in 1846, Dunbar station always appears smart and well maintained. The station became a single platform loop off the main line following 'modernisation' in the 1970s. (The canopies were removed for electrification.) [Note: A further 'modernisation' some 40 odd years later saw a second platform reintroduced at the end of 2019 along with a new footbridge, lifts and extended car parking facilities.]
