GNSR no. 49 'Gordon Highlander' runs round its train at Ponfeigh, in the course of a Branch Line Society railtour on 16th October 1965. During the run round, some extra shine is being applied to the boiler paintwork, a procedure that would no doubt fall foul of Health and Safety regulations nowadays. The line closed to passengers in 1964 and was cut back to Ponfeigh. Coal traffic to Douglas Colliery kept the remaining line open until 1968.
