Stirling North Junction
View from the three-hour Glasgow-Aberdeen express, leaving Stirling behind A3 60100 'Spearmint' on 13th July 1963. A surprise was in store at Perth where, for reasons unknown, the A3 was taken off the train and replaced by one of Perth's trusty Black Fives. Having left Perth eight minutes late, 44959 proved more than capable of keeping to Pacific timings reaching Aberdeen only four minutes down.
