Sheriffhall [2nd]
Looking south along the trackbed of the former Waverley route towards the bridge at Kings Gate in the summer of 2012. The North British line continued to curve north east behind the camera towards Millerhill, whereas today's Borders Railway runs north from the bridge along the 2014 deviation to Newcraighall via Shawfair. The original Edinburgh and Dalkeith took yet another alignment off to the right here. For the view north from the bridge at this time see 39712.
