It's not often you see a level crossing across a yard, though there is no real road on either side and anyway the yard is not now operational. The crossing was perhaps created in the days when huge numbers of pipeline sections arrived by rail and were stored on this side of the line, now a scrubby expanse of nothing. Arthur's Seat is in the background.
