Charlesfield Halt

Two old gates, the one on the left permanently open, that on the right permanently closed. The former stands at the well used entrance to a field, while the second once accessed a path up to a station whose last recorded use was almost 60 years earlier. The station was Charlesfield Halt, opened in 1942 for the use of workers at the wartime munitions factory constructed nearby. For the view from the platform towards the depot see image 58342.
