Westhoughton
This was the point where, until 1968, the line from Dobbs Brow Junction to Blackrod passed underneath the Wigan to Bolton line. (Map Ref SD 640059) See map 76558. The cutting is still there, to the left of the rear cab of the train, but the bridge itself has been filled in. 150150 and 125 are working from Southport to Oxford Road, next stop Westhoughton, on 27th April 2021. With the May 2021 timetable change these Southport services have been extended to Alderley Edge and are now worked by Class 769 Flex units.
