Coulter

Midway between Symington and Biggar the former Caledonian route to Peebles passed through the wayside station at Coulter. The station lost its passenger service along with the rest of the line in 1950, with the last surviving freight-only section to Broughton closing in 1966. View is north towards the level crossing in March 2011, with the platform situated on the far side of the old station house and the goods yard just beyond. Immediately to the left of the level crossing the line ran onto Wolfclyde Viaduct (see image 6033).
