View of Haymarket station from above the tunnel mouths. I wonder if the proprietor of Easter Dalry House (far left) was compensated when the railway came along and spoiled his semi-rural idyll? One can easily see where the previous footbridge left the 1842 station building. Who’d guess from the front that the solid, confident structure is on stilts?
