Chadwell Heath

315852, with a stopping service from Liverpool Street to Shenfield, departing from Chadwell Heath on 24th October 2009. The line here was opened by the Eastern Counties Railway in 1839 and became the Great Eastern Railway on 1st January 1862 and it was the GER that opened Chadwell Heath station on 11th January 1864. The platforms on the fast tracks, out of view on the right, are no longer in use. On weekdays, this is a busy commuter station in this fully built up area of Essex, now part of Greater east London. This service is now operated as TfL Rail with new class 345 units and which will eventually become part of Crossrail, that should have opened in December 2018. But as of July 2021, there is still no firm date for its opening.
