This photograph shows a very deliberate attempt to ensure that the Polmaise Colliery branch could not be re-opened. The then (1988) brand new A91 had been built with this offset bridge, reminiscent of photographs on the 'Cycle Facility of the Month' site. The line in the foreground crosses the Bannock Burn by means of the girder bridge seen here. The trackbed is now a footpath, complete with pointless kink.
