82005 on empty stock duties at Euston in 1984. By this time only 82005 and 82008 were still in service, restricted to these ecs workings between here and Willesden. Of the five early types of AC electric locos the small class of Beyer-Peacock built 82s, with a heavy steel frame and Commonwealth bogies, were greatly preferred by drivers for their ride qualities. 82008 has survived into preservation at Barrow Hill.
