Milton Level Crossing
Looking east on 14 September 2021, towards the sharp and narrow right turn on the north side approach to the level crossing at Milton, when heading towards Hallbankgate and Alston. The road on the other side has a straight approach, so vehicles have to slow almost to a crawl to exit sharp left and avoid any oncoming traffic. The signal box also controls nearby semaphore home signals protecting the crossing.
