Arth-Goldau
Viewed from the southbound 'Gotthard Express' as it leaves Arth-Goldau, an early-generation Gotthard electric waits in one of the northbound freight loops. It is an Ae 4/7, number 10957, introduced in the late nineteen twenties. The picture was taken in 1966, by which time passenger and heavy freight traffic over the route was in the ultra-capable hands of the famous Ae 6/6s, but the vintage Ae 4/7s were still active on less strenuous local traffic.
