Beith Town

Gardner-engined railbus SC79958 at Beith Town in the summer of 1962. Passenger services from Lugton to Beith were withdrawn later that year. The railbus chassis was built by Bristol Commercial Vehicles Ltd and the body by Eastern Coach Works Ltd, both companies belonging to the British Transport Commission. Two vehicles were built in 1958 for the Scottish Region and withdrawn in 1966. The road vehicle styling, including chrome bumpers, was dated even in 1958.
