Brayton Junction

The last freight train to use the old Solway Junction line from Abbeytown to Brayton, near Aspatria, ran in 1933 (the last passengers had been carried twelve years earlier). This view from a surviving but infilled road overbridge looks south west towards the junction with the operational Cumbrian Coast line (which runs in the cutting to the left of this picture) along a well defined section of trackbed.
