This is the remains of one of the buildings of the Tyndrum / Clifton lead mines. These mines were connected to sidings at Tyndrum station by a tramway the route of which varied over the years (including an incline at the western end for a time). The tramway predated the C&O and once connected at the eastern end to crushing mill by the Crom Allt. Its site, east of the lower station, can still be seen as nothing will grow here.
