ROF Rotherwas
This 'gate guardian' is an Andrew Barclay 0-4-0DM, built during 1941 to a War Office requirement, shown as ARMY 220. It is parked outside the Rotherwas Industrial Estate, five miles to the south of Hereford, marking the site's earlier role as ROF Rotherwas. An overhaul date on the brake cylinder indicates the loco may have been in service into the late seventies but that will have been at another site as ROF Rotherwas closed in 1967.
