The substantially modified former Conishead Priory station, on a misty day in January 2010. It was built as a through station, for a projected line through Bardsea along the coast to Barrow, but the line never progressed beyond this point. From 1880 to 1895 it saw two trains per day, serving the nearby hydrotherapy hotel, but then this reduced to a single daily train until closure in 1916. The generous facilities reflected the affluence of the expected hotel patrons.
