Rowrah station, looking south towards Egremont in January 2022. Rowrah was a significant junction of several mineral railways and there was a significant marshalling yard here. Regular passenger services ceased in 1931 although the station remained staffed for parcels, goods and ad-hoc passenger services until 1967, thirty six years later. Mineral traffic gradually declined during the intervening years and the line to the north closed in 1954. The last goods train of all left in 1967.
