Lamplugh station opened as Wright Green (where it is situated) in 1866 but was renamed in 1901 to reflect the parish covering the area. Lamplugh village itself is several miles away. Passenger services between Workington and Whitehaven via Rowrah ceased in 1931 and the last goods train ran through here in 1954. In January 2022 I could not ascertain if there is anything left of the station itself but Station House is in residential use at the entrance.
