A couple of local hire boats are taking a close look at the unusual operation in progress at Millport's Old Pier. The 'Maid of Cumbrae' is moored at the pier and a sister vessel (the Maid of Argyll, I think, but the photo definition isn't good enough to be certain) has tied up alongside. Boarding passengers are crossing the gangway slung between the two. Definitely not an everyday occurrence and one probably best carried out in calm weather, which of course was happily the case that day.
