Due to closure of the east coast main line 43 049 heads an InterCity HST south towards Carstairs on the former Caledonian route in 1988. The train is passing the remains of Cobbinshaw station, closed in April 1966. Cobbinshaw reservoir occupies the right background. See image 37812
