The GBXIV tour started from Grange-over-Sands on 27th April heading for Chester and later Cardiff. Although Grange is only a few miles from Carnforth the locos and stock had been all the way to Askam to reverse so, with all that mileage and time accrued, were heading for a water stop at Carnforth Loops. Jubilees 45596 and 45690 double headed the train throughout the day and are seen passing under the Ironworks Tramway bridge at Warton, just to the west of Carnforth.
