Greenock West

View from the 5.03pm Gourock to Glasgow Central leaving Greenock West, hauled by Fairburn 2-6-4T 42274, on Friday 28th April 1967. This was the final steam hauled service on the line, and indeed I think it was the final occasion, in BR days, on which a Scottish-based steam locomotive worked a scheduled 'Scottish' passenger service. Quite a number of Anglo-Scottish services were hauled by locomotives from south of the border on later dates in 1967, but I believe that this was the last service 'internal' to Scotland.
