Singer Workers Platforms

Although the destination blind has been changed to Airdrie, this is a six-carriage 'Blue Train' drawing to a halt at Singer Workers Platforms in 1965. More than half a century later, one's memory of their headcodes is too hazy to recall the exact meaning of '57', but the '5' presumably meant that Singer Workers' Platforms was indeed the destination. Another shot taken a minute or two later shows that the folk leaving the train were perhaps even more smartly dressed than those waiting on the platform to board.
