There is an air of expectancy at Edinburgh Waverley on 25 March 1967 as Scottish Region's 'Grand Tour No 1' is about to leave on a journey of some 600 miles. Leading the ensemble of 18 coaches is Class 40 No D368, with Class 47 No D1973 tucked inside. The pair would take the Waverley Route to Carlisle, then head north to Perth, where Black 5 No 44997 and A4 No 60009 'Union of South Africa' would take over.
