Buchanan Street
A4 60019 'Bittern' prepares to leave Glasgow Buchanan St with the 5.30pm three-hour express for Aberdeen, watched by two young enthusiasts, whose mother has doubtless been persuaded to bring them along the platform to see the departure. Their luck was in, because a bonus was shortly to appear in the shape of A4 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' arriving promptly at 5.30pm from Aberdeen. The photograph was taken several minutes beforehand, however. Black 5 44698 can be seen reversing down from the tunnel to take the 5.35pm to Dunblane.
