Looking east at Lock 36 in 1999 during work to restore the canal for navigation. This portion, where Duntreath Avenue crossed the canal, had been piped and infilled. This was one of several sections west of Glasgow where the canal had been piped. Evidently someone didn't like the temporary works fencing. There had been a quay here, to the left, the southern end of a tramway which ran north to the Garscadden Brick Works.
